Lady Knights Drop Weekend Games in Tennessee

Athens, TN- St. Andrews dropped a pair of conference games in Tennessee over the weekend as they fell 21-16 to AAC foe Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday and then 20-14 to NWLL South Region foe Emmanuel (Ga.) on Saturday.

SAU competed well with the Bulldogs on Friday as they only went into half down by two 12-10. However, TWC was just a little too strong in the end as they continued to penetrate the Knights defense for 31 shots as they went on to outscore St. Andrews 9-6 in the second half for the conference win. TWC improves to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the region.

Senior Catherine Lovallo (SR/Old Bridge, NJ) led the Lady Knights with 7 goals, 2 assists and 7 draw control wins while attacker Jackie Jones (SR/Springfield, VA) scored 6 goals along with 3 ground balls. Leading in ground balls was defender Joelle-Sara Prata (FR/New Bedford, MA) with 6. Midfielder Anastasia Schultz (SO/Atlanta, GA) also scored 2 goals for the Knights.

St. Andrews then played Emmanuel (5-4) on Saturday on a neutral site and fell 20-14 as the Lions jumped all over the Knights early for 15 goals in the first half as they were the ones with the fresh legs in the half. St. Andrews made a comeback in the second half, though, after being outscored 15-6 in the first to score 8 goals and hold the Lions to just 5 as SAU won the half, but it wasn't enough in the end.

Lovallo led the Knights again with 6 goals on 10 shots as she now has 50 goals on the season. Her and Schultz also led in ground balls with 5. Jones led in draw controls with 5 as well while also scoring 4 goals with 3 assists. Schultz also scored 3 goals while midfielder Risa Wautel (JR/Baltimore, MD) scored one.

St. Andrews falls to 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the region and will next be in action on Monday at 1:00 pm as they host non-conference foe LaGrange (Ga.) College (3-8) in a make-up game from March 11.
