GENESEO, N.Y. – Junior Jennifer Willis (Huntington/Walt Whitman) became the seventh Cortland women's lacrosse player to surpass 200 career points with four goals and two assists as she led the nationally fifth-ranked Red Dragons to a 13-7 victory at Geneseo Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Red Dragons ran their record to 15-0 overall and clinched the top seed in the SUNYAC Tournament with a 7-0 record. Cortland will host the four-team conference playoffs on Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5. With the loss, the Knights, who hosted the conference tournament last season, fell to 11-2 and 6-1 and will be the number-two seed next weekend.

Senior Jessie Lynch (West Islip) added three goals and two assists for the Red Dragons, junior Ali Bourgal (Sachem) collected three goals and an assist and junior Andrea Venditti (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) recorded three goals. Junior Gina Fazio (Brownville/General Brown) contributed two assists. Senior goalie Regina Grosso (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) made 10 saves in pushing her record to 15-0 on the season.

Emily Ward led the Knights with two goals and an assist, Maggie Benham collected a pair of goals and Melody Kuzniar had one goal and one assist. Jess Pausewang made six saves in goal.

Cortland opened up leads of 4-1 and 6-2 in the opening half before a late first-half goal by Geneseo made it 6-3 at intermission. The Red Dragons, however, put the game away with the first seven goals of the second half for a 13-3 lead with 11:31 remaining. Geneseo closed the game with the final four goals.
