St. Andrews Rolls to Victory over Point

East Point, Ga.- The St. Andrews University men's lacrosse team traveled to play AAC foe Point University in a non-MCLA game on Thursday and came back with their largest margin of victory this season in rolling over the Skyhawks 19-4.

Senior captain Chris Michela (SR/Vienna, VA) led the Knights with 7 goals and one assist to increase his team-leading goal total to 26 on the season while midfielder Connor Cather (SO/Poulsbo, WA) also had a big game with 3 goals and 2 assists for five points. Midfielder Cha'Sed Miller (SO/Lexington, KY) also chipped in 2 goals and 2 assists for SAU as the trio combined to score 12 of the 19 goals.

Seven other players then scored at least one goal in the game and they were Jason Wilson (SO/Hershey, PA), Bryson Palmer (SO/Simpsonville, SC), Nolan Gilmour (SO/Portland, OR), Kekoa Naipo (SO/Windsor, CO), Ryan Perez (SO/Poulsbo, WA), Joseph Wilson (FR/Montclair, VA), and midfielder Vinny D'Abbraccio (SO/Plantation, FL). D'Abbraccio also led with 11 ground balls to increase his team lead to 39 on the season.

The Knights scored 6 goals in the first quarter while shutting Point out before leading 9-2 at the half. St. Andrews then scored three more in the third before really blowing the game up by scoring 7 in the fourth. Goalie Will Chiasson (JR/Victoria, BC, Canada) made 10 saves on 14 shots for a 71.4 save percentage while the team outshot the Skyhawks 44-14.

St. Andrews improves to 4-6 on the year with their final road win and will next host division foe Wofford (S.C.) (0-7) on Sunday at 3:00 pm.
