Fresno State Drops MPSF Match-up to USC

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State lacrosse team fell to USC 16-6 Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.

"I thought we made some great adjustments after our half time talk and came out strong," said Fresno State head coach Jessica Pausewang. "I was really proud of our attacks motions and versatility today."

After being outscored 11-1 in the first half by USC, the Bulldogs readjusted and held even at five goals each with the Trojans in the second half though were unable to recover the deficit and fell to USC 16-6.

Kara Concheck led the 'Dogs with a team-high three goals. This was Concheck's third hat trick of the season. The senior midfielder now leads Fresno State all-time in goals (61) and points (69).

Marcy Levatino added two goals for the Bulldogs and freshman Allison Poust posted one on the night.

Freshman goalkeeper Meganne Weissenfels recorded a career-high 13 saves against the Trojans off of their 33 shots.

Fresno State (1-9, 0-3 MPSF) is set to host its alumni for its annual game tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium. The 'Dogs then continue conference play on April 10 when they host St. Mary's for Senior Night at 5:00 p.m.
