WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth fell to 0-9 in its first season of men's lacrosse action, following a 9-5 setback to Lafayette at Monmouth Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Lafayette took a 1-0 lead at 7:14 of the first when Brian Bock netted the first of his game-high three goals, before Keen's seventh tally of the season knotted the game at 1-1 with 4:17 remaining. The Leopards notched the next three scores, including a pair from Sonny Round, to hold a 4-1 advantage with 8:15 left in the half, but a Schwartz goal, off an assist from Zack Schleicher (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) cut the deficit to 4-2 at the intermission.

With 13:29 left in the third, Berger's fifth career goal pulled Monmouth within 4-3, but the Leopards responded with four straight scores to hold an 8-3 cushion with 4:08 remaining in the third quarter.

Unassisted goals from Schwartz with 1:53 left in the third and Daly with 9:23 remaining in the contest, got the Hawks within 8-5, while Jake Mann's empty net score with 29 ticks left, accounted for the final four-goal difference.
