No. 6 New Haven Scores at 0:19 to Upend No. 4 Le Moyne

Syracuse, N.Y. Nicole McKee scored the game-winning goal with 19 seconds left as sixth-ranked New Haven rallied for an 11-10 win over fourth-ranked Le Moyne on Wednesday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins scored twice over the opening 13:06 to take a 2-0 lead. Sophomore attacker Claire Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 22:20 remaining. Freshman midfielder Amari Pollard (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) put the Dolphins up two with an unassisted tally at the 16:54 mark.

New Haven got on the scoreboard with 12:03 remaining as Corinne Fisher netted an unassisted goal.

Le Moyne responded with a pair of goals in a span of 1:53. Junior attacker Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) scored from in front of the goal with 10:34 left after taking a pass from senior midfielder Victoria Nies (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt). Senior attacker Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) gave the Dolphins a 4-1 advantage with an unassisted goal with 8:41 remaining.

The Chargers trimmed their deficit to two with 4:08 to go in the half on a free-position goal by Kathryn Campbell.

The Dolphins took a 6-2 lead into the intermission by scoring twice in the final 23 seconds of the half. Pollard netted her team's fifth goal, while sophomore attacker Mary Fadden (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) finished off a feed from junior attacker Sam Yaro (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) with six seconds left.

New Haven opened the second half with five straight goals over the first 7:14 of the stanza. Off the opening draw of the half, Campbell raced up field and netted her 23rd goal of the season just 12 seconds into the half. After a Le Moyne turnover, McKee pulled the Chargers within 6-4 after taking a pass from Campbell with 28:17 left. Just 30 seconds later, Courtney Ackland scored from the left edge of the crease to force a Le Moyne timeout. Following alternating turnovers by each team, Campbell knotted the score at six from in front of the goal after taking a pass from Nicole Belanger on the right side. After a turnover by each team, Ackland gave New Haven its first lead of the contest with her 14th goal of the season from the left edge of the crease with 22:46 left.

The Dolphins ended New Haven's run as Nies scored one minute later.

Following a turnover by each team, the Chargers regained the lead on an unassisted goal by Campbell with 19:09 remaining.

The Dolphins evened the score again just over five minutes later as Monnat netted her team-best 17th goal of the season on a free-position shot.

After two empty possessions by each team, defender Brittany Ast cleared the ball and then netted her first goal of the year with 10:43 remaining to put the Chargers up 9-8.

Following a New Haven turnover, Pollard knotted the score at nine on a free-position shot just 59 seconds after Ast scored.

The Chargers regained the lead though only 38 seconds later as McKee finished off a pass from Ackland on the front edge of the crease.

Le Moyne tied the score for the final time with 7:11 remaining as Nies scored from the crease after receiving a pass from Monnat on a free-position attempt.

Following a pair of New Haven turnovers and a save by New Haven goalkeeper Alyssa Gianotti on a Le Moyne free-position shot with 2:13 left, the Chargers cleared the ball and then called timeout. After running the clock down, McKee scored from the front of the crease with 19 seconds left after taking a pass from Campbell on the left side.
