Towler Paces #8 Merrimack to Win at Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. Paced by a season- and career-high four-goal performance from sophomore Tim Towler (Topsfield, Mass.), the eighth-ranked Merrimack men's lacrosse team wrapped up a two-win week with a dominant 15-6 victory at Southern New Hampshire in Northeaset-10 Conference action on Saturday ta Larkin Field.

Fueled by a dominant performance to start the game, the Warriors roared out of the gate by outscoring the hosts, 7-1, in the opening quarter to set the tone and added eight more goals over the rest of the way to cruise to a nine-goal victory.

Two of Towler's four markers came in the opening 15 minutes, including the game's first tally at 13:09 and another one with 2:37 to go. The sophomore middie then wrapped up his hat trick with a third strike in the third frame before blasting an unassisted goal with 2:55 left in the third quarter to wrap up his career day.

Towler was one of four multi-goal scorers for the Warriors, who also saw senior Mike Perdie (Wading River, N.Y.), sophomore Corey Davidson (Pembroke, Mass.) and freshman sensation Max Allen (West Caldwell, N.J.) each tally two goals apiece, as well. Freshman Tucker Schwarz (Tallahassee, Fla.), senior Paul Jones (Guilderland, N.Y.), sophomore Scott Corcoran (Haverhill, Mass.), junior Kyle Guilbert (Walpole, Mass.), and senior Paul Gallagher (Simsbury, Conn.) all added a goal as well to pace the Warriors on offense, while junior Jamie Shand (Massapequa, N.Y.) finished with a team-high two assists.

In net, freshman Dom Madonna (Liverpool, N.Y.) turned in possibly his finest performance yet in registering a career-high 10 saves over 45 minutes before junior Morgan Green (Portsmouth, R.I.) and senior Sean Payne (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) split the final 15 minutes.
