Mariners Top Green Mountain to Win Third Straight

CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime won its third-straight game with a 20-5 win over Green Mountain in a North Atlantic Conference lacrosse game Saturday. The Mariners improved to 3-0 NAC, 3-4 overall, while the Eagles dropped to 0-3, 0-7.

Brady Harrison and Peter Moore both recorded six points to lead Maine Maritime's offense. Harrison netted a game-high four goals and dished out two assists, while Moore scored twice and had four helpers.

Bronson Guimond and Nicholas Betti both scored hat tricks for the Mariners, while Cameron Wyman, Tim Grant and A.J. Larrabee scored twice. Nick Snelling and Wade Severance each scored once.

Ian Larcom anchored Maine Maritime's defense with nine caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Snelling caused six turnovers and scooped seven ground balls. Jack Tragert (16 of 20), Tim Grant (7 of 7) and Clayton Morrison (1 of 1) combined for 24 of 28 face-off wins. James Wilgus picked up the win with two saves in goal and Gavin Cote stopped two shots in relief.

Charlie Petrick scored a team-high three goals for Green Mountain and Mike Smith added the other two. Kyle Walz had the Eagles lone assist. Luke Carey stopped 12 shots in goal for GMC.

The Mariners return to action Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at Husson.
