Warriors Fall at Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. Junior Erin Cieniewicz (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored two goals and freshman Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) stopped nine shots in net to lead Lycoming, but Arcadia scored 12 goals in the first half to post an 18-3 non-conference win on a rainy Monday night, April 7.

Cieniewicz led the Warriors (5-8 overall) with the two scores and four draw controls, while senior Sarah Quigley (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) posted a goal and added four ground balls and a caused turnover. Junior Casey Maguire (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) also added an assist.

Arcadia (11-1 overall) jumped out to a 5-0 lead through the first 12 minutes before Cieniewicz got the Warriors on the board with 15:17 left in the half. However, Arcadia responded with seven more goals to take a 12-1 lead into the break. The Warriors scored two of the first three goals in the second half, but the Knights scored the game's last five goals to round out the scoring.

Both Erin Misner and Haylee Molloy led the Knights with four goals and Jenna Crothers added two goals and four assists. Dawn Faranetta and Jaclyn Feffer added two goals and two assists and Catherine Brown scored three times.

In net, Gerling (5-8) stopped nine shots for the Warriors and Jordyn Dunacusky (11-0) added six stops in the win for the Knights.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 12, when they face Widener in a critical Commonwealth Conference showdown at 1:00 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
