Oor Assists No. 3 Limestone, as Saints Light up LRU

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Senior attack Sarah Oor (Uxbridge, Canada) dished out six assists as No. 3 Limestone (12-0, 4-0 CC) delivered a 21-6 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne (8-7, 4-1 SAC) on Wednesday, April 9.

Senior attack Sarah Oor (Uxbridge, Canada) dished out six assists on her way to eight points and moved up to fourth all-time in NCAA Division II assists with 197 for her career. She passed Shannon Fabian (C.W. Post) and Rachel Ray (Adelphi), each of whom had 193 for their career, and now trails only LIU Post's Jackie Sileo (339), Adelphi's Claire Peterson (204) and Dowling's Brooke Witkowski (201). Only Sileo is active on that list.

Oor was joined by sophomore midfielder Taylor Cline (Hagerstown, Md.) and junior midfielder Sam McCarrick (Oswego, N.Y.) with four goals apiece and senior midfielder Katie Farrell (Brooks, Ga.) and junior midfielder Jessica Aguanno (Delray Beach, Fla.) each had three goals. Farrell added three groundballs, three draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. Freshman goalkeeper Sydney Teeter (Auburn, N.Y.) played 43:44 and allowed five goals while making five saves to improve to a perfect 12-0.

The Saints wasted no time in jumping out to a 5-2 lead by the 19:30 mark before Lenoir-Rhyne pulled to within 7-4 just over six minutes later. From there, however, it would be all Limestone as they scored six straight as part of a 14-1 run that extended to a 21-5 margin with 5:32 to play. The Bears' Torrey Schwitkis would add a meaningless goal in the final two minutes to reach the final score of 21-6.

Lauren Donovan led LRU with a pair of goals and two assists while Schwitkis had an assist and a goal. Bailey Leonard, Kelsie Swanson and Kirsten Smith each had solo goals. Amanda Cotto played 43:53 in goals and allowed 18 goals and made nine saves.

Limestone heads to Misenheimer, N.C. this Saturday, April 12 to take on No. 10 Pfeiffer. Slated for a 12:00 p.m. start, that game will decide the Conference Carolinas regular season championship.
