Saint Joseph's Tops St. Bonaventure to Snap Skid

PHILADELPHIA Saint Joseph's snapped a five-game losing skid with an 11-7 win over St. Bonaventure in Atlantic 10 action at Sweeney Field on Friday afternoon. The Hawks now improve to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Junior midfielder Julia Falcone (Westchester, Pa./Westchester East) led five Hawks in scoring with four goals on six shots and was 2 of 3 in FPS. Sophomore midfielder Kelly Phelan (Ellicott City, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) added a four-point effort on three goals and one assist.

Rookie attack Nora McCallion (Narberth, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) also recorded a multi-goal game for the Crimson and Gray. Sophomore midfielder Courtney Emanuele (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) was good for one goal and a team-best two assists.

Defensively, sophomore defender Caroline Hagan (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) boasted four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Sophomore goalkeeper Genevieve Giblin (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Visitation Prep (D.C.)) (4-8, 1-2 A-10) made eight saves and added one ground ball and one caused turnover in a full-game effort.

Saint Joseph's returns home to host Duquesne this Sunday, April 13. Start time at Sweeney Field is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
