Cyclones' Three-Game Winning Streak Halted by Neumann

ASTON, Pa. - Centenary's three-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of Neumann by a score of 19-4 on Wednesday night in the Cyclones' Colonial States Athletic Conference finale.

Sophomore Carlie Schmitt (Stewartstown, Pa./Kennard-Dale) scored off a feed from classmate Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) just 13 seconds into the game, giving Centenary a 1-0 lead, but Neumann quickly answered with a pair of goals.

Centenary tied the score at 2-2 when sophomore Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) found the back of the net at the 24:28 mark; however, the Knights tallied 11 of the half's final 12 goals and entered the break ahead 13-3.

Schmitt netted a hat trick for the Cyclones, while freshman Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) grabbed four ground balls and controlled six draws. Sophomore goalkeeper Andrea Wisniewski (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon) made 13 saves in net.

The Knights outshot Centenary 41-12 and collected 40 ground balls, compared to 19 for the Cyclones. Jordan Hopkins fired in four goals and dished out one assist to lead Neumann's offense.

Centenary closes out the regular season on Tuesday at home against the College of St. Elizabeth.
