Oberlin Cruises to Win over Hiram

Hiram, Ohio - Oberlin scored early and often as they cruised to a 21-1 win over Hiram on Wednesday evening.

A total of 10 different players accounted for the Yeomen scores. Sophomore Alex Wagman guided the attack with four goals and two assists, while Connor Jackson, Eric Hager and Nick Lobley each registered a hat trick with three goals. Lobley also distributed six assists on the night.

Furthermore, Matthew Fox and Sean Seaman contributed two goals each in the win.

Oberlin led 5-0 after one quarter and ultimately took an 8-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

The Terriers scored the first goal of the second half, but the Yeomen erupted for eight goals in the the third quarter to effectively put the game out of reach for Hiram.

Seaman scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, marking his first tally of the season. Senior Matthew Rogers would then follow with his first score of the year as well.

Later in the period, 'the brothers Husted' got into the mix as Chris scored his first collegiate goal with an assist coming from his brother Mac.

Oberlin out-shot Hiram 70-11 and finished with a 56-20 in ground balls. The Yeomen also won 21 of the game's 25 face-offs. Rookie Jason Gibson led the way as he was 17 of 19 on draws.

The Yeomen will conclude their season on Saturday evening at the College of Wooster. The opening face-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
