Stony Brook Comes up Short at Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. - Sophomore Chris Hughes (Oceanside, N.Y.) tied a career-high with four goals, but Binghamton scored five man-up goals and pulled away late for a 14-11 win Saturday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

Freshman Hayden Johnstone (Toronto, Ontario) was outstanding, standing on his head for numerous saves, while finishing the game with 15 saves.

Hughes scored three of his four goals in the third quarter. Three of them were on EMO.

Junior Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) added two goals and two assists for Stony Brook (5-9, 1-3 America East).

Both teams cleared the ball perfectly on Saturday. Stony Brook was 8 of 8 and Binghamton was 12 of 12.

Brandon Planck had four goals and Matt Springer had three for Binghamton (7-6, 4-0).
