Harvard Holds off Columbia

NEW YORK Audrey Todd and Megan Hennessey each notched three goals, while Alexis Nicolia grabbed five ground balls and scored twice, helping Harvard knock off Columbia, 12-10, Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, Harvard (9-5, 4-2 Ivy League) inches closer to clinching a berth in the upcoming Ivy League tournament May 2-4. A win by Cornell later Saturday afternoon would guarantee a spot for the Crimson in the postseason field.

Marisa Romeo and Sophia Capone also tallied two goals apiece, and goalie Kelly Weis recorded four saves for Harvard. Marina Burke collected a career-best four ground balls, while five members of the Crimson won two draw controls.

Taylor Quinn scored five times and added an assist for the Lions, who slip to 3-9 and 0-6 in the Ancient Eight. Colleen Packer finished with five saves in net for Columbia.
