Ohio Wesleyan Jumps to 8-0 Lead, Sails by W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Alex Dikos scored four goals, but Ohio Wesleyan jumped out to a seven-goal lead and defeated Washington & Jefferson 18-8 Saturday in women's lacrosse action at Alexandre Stadium.

The Presidents (0-9) used the game to help raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through donations and a chinese auction during the day. Former President and 2013 graduate Megan Kelly's cousin, Katie Jane Gasior, was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia last year. Katie is now in Major Molecular Remission from CML, but will be on oral chemo for the rest of her life. With efforts from fans from both OWU and W&J, over $500 was raised today and donated to the LLS.

Ohio Wesleyan (8-7) stormed out to a 7-0 lead Saturday and never looked back. Diana Harvey and Alex Dikos scored goals for the Presidents in the final two minutes of first half to narrow the gap to 7-2.

The Battling Bishops sealed the win with the first four goals of the second half.

Dikos finished with four goals, while Harvey contributed three goals and one assist. Ashley Bulger added one goal and one assist, while Kelsey Rotenberg made 14 saves in goal for the Presidents (0-9).

Seven different OWU players found the back of the net led by Cate Bailey's five tallies.
