Elizabethtown Uses 8-0 Run to Extinguish Blazers

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Hood scored the game's first goal, but Elizabethtown responded with an eight-goal run and went on to win 10-2 in Commonwealth Conference action.

Randolph Clark (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) won the opening face off and, just 27 seconds into the game, Tai Foster (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) gave the Blazers a 1-0 lead. Hood nearly blanked the Blue Jays in the first quarter, but a late goal by Russ LeClair in the final minute tied the game at 1-1.

LeClair scored again to give Elizabethtown the lead and Mike Specht found the back of the net in the final two minutes to put Hood down 3-1 at the half.

Five unanswered third quarter goals, including two goals and an assist by Joe Clark, put the game out of reach.

After Specht scored to open the fourth quarter, Brett Humphreys (Newark, Del./Sanford) broke the run with the Blazers' second marker of the afternoon with 7:01 left in the game.

Clark went 11 of 13 on face offs with 12 ground balls. Domenic Cetrone (Odenton, Md./Arundel) had seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Joseph McCulloh (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made 14 saves in goal for Hood.

Clark finished with a game-high four points with two goals and two assists. LeClair and Specht both scored twice.

The Blazers were 12 of 14 as a team on face offs and killed all three of the Blue Jays extra man opportunities.

Hood wraps up the regular season when Albright visits Thomas Athletic Field on April 26 at 1:00 p.m.
