Landmark Leader Catholic Runs by Blue Jays

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Catholic University, the Landmark's lone remaining unbeaten team, played like it Thursday afternoon, bolting out to a 13-0 halftime lead and going on to defeat Elizabethtown 18-1 at Wolf Field.

Addie Stang made her way to the middle of the field and finished off a Becky Graessle dish with 15:55 to go in the game for the Blue Jays' (1-13, 1-5 Landmark) lone goal. For Stang, the goal was her team-leading 24th of the season, while Graessle's assist was her second.

E-town got six saves from Beata Palosz, who faced 28 Cardinal (9-5, 5-0 Landmark) shots over the course of the afternoon.

Krissy Pennell forced six turnovers and collected three ground balls. Dana Robidoux won two draws and had a team-high six ground balls, while Stang added a team-high five shots.

Catholic spread its scoring amongst 11 players. Ana Brandenburg led the way with a hat trick and an assist for four points. Laura Dunn also scored four on a goal and three assists.

CUA got two goals apiece from Jenna Van Middelem, Madeline Wilson, Linsay Brophy, Alexis Bosilovic and Allie Bond. Yasmeen Ajdari started and made one save in the first half, while her backup Tricia Pehnke turned aside four Blue Jay shots in the second.

Elizabethtown wraps up its 2014 season Saturday against Widener at 1:00 p.m.
