Stony Brook Beats Hartford for Final Berth in A-East Tourney

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Faced with a must-win game, Stony Brook defeated Hartford, 14-10, Friday night at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. With the win, the Seawolves (6-9, 2-3) earned the fourth and final seed in next week's America East Championship, which will be played at Stony Brook.

Sophomore Chris Hughes (Oceanside, N.Y.) and junior Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) each scored three goals for Stony Brook, which received goals from nine different players.

Sophomore Brody Eastwood (Victoria, British Columbia) added two goals.

Sophomore Dylan Curry (East Meadow, N.Y.) and senior Dominic Cerasi (Centereach, N.Y.), both long-stick midfielders, scored a goal and had an assist, respectively.

Four different players had two goals apiece for Hartford (6-9, 1-4), including a pair from Andrew Cacchio. Kevin O'Shea had a goal and a game-high five assists.
