Centenary Overpowered at Marywood in CSAC Quarterfinals

SCRANTON, Pa. - The sixth-seeded Centenary lacrosse team saw its season come to an end in the CSAC quarterfinal round following a 15-1 loss at third-seeded Marywood on Saturday afternoon.

Marywood will visit No. 2 Neumann in the CSAC Tournament semifinals, while Centenary closed out its season with a 4-11 record under first-year Head Coach Erica Roebuck.

The Pacers controlled the game from the outset as they built a 10-0 lead at halftime. Freshman Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) scored off a feed from sophomore Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) at the 14:34 mark of the second half to provide the lone goal for Centenary.

Sarah Caughy scored four times and dished out two assists for the Pacers, who recorded 25 shots, compared to 15 for the Cyclones. Net minder Lauren Smith made six saves.

Sophomore Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) recorded three caused turnovers and three ground balls, while classmate Andrea Wisniewski (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon) stopped eight shots in net.

On Friday, Rabenstein was named to the All-CSAC First Team, while Voelkner and Sutko were both second team selections.
