Results from Day 1 of the 2014 MCLA National Championships

The 2014 MCLA National Championships are taking place this week in California at the campuses of UC Irvine and Chapman University. Results of first-round games are below. All of the higher-seeded teams prevailed in the openers - though some narrowly, including two in overtime - except for Brigham Young, the third seed in Division 1. The Cougars fell to No. 14-seed Virginia Tech, 11-6.
