Taelar Errington Joins Lacrosse Coaching Staff at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. Head coach Dawn Easley has announced that Taelar Errington will join her staff as an assistant coach after playing for the Camels the past two years.

Errington, a native of Valley Lee, Md., was a CU captain for two years and helped lead the Camels through their inaugural season in 2013.

"When Taelar was a player she was a natural leader and coach on the field," Easley said. "She's a natural and she has a desire to learn about what it is to be a coach."

She was a two-time Big South honoree, named second team all-conference in 2014 and earned a place on the All-Academic team in 2013. She was also named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll in 2013.

"I would like to thank Coach Easley and Bob Roller for the opportunity to continue to be a part of Campbell women's lacrosse," Errington commented. "I feel extremely blessed to have spent my junior and senior year at Campbell and now get to continue on as a member of the coaching staff. I have learned so much from coach Easley and coach Moulton and I am looking forward to the opportunity to grow and learn as a coach under them. I believe this program has great things to come in its future and I am honored to be a part of it."

In her career at Campbell, she netted 60 goals and added 19 goals in 27 games from the midfield, owning a 66.4 shot on goal percentage. She finished her career at CU with 26 ground balls, 45 draw controls, and 17 caused turnovers.

"The reason I hired her is because I know she wants to bring something to our game and our program," Easley continued. "She believes in what we're trying to do with the program and that is something that's hard to teach. She sees where the program is going and wants to continue to be a part of it."

Errington finished her senior season ranked 43rd in the nation with 2.57 goals per game and 54th with 3.50 points per game.

A transfer from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Errington played 23 games for the Bulldogs, scoring 13 goals and adding four assists.

Errington graduated from Campbell with a degree in exercise science in 2014. She will join Easley and assistant coach Jessica Moulton, who are both heading into their second year leading the program.
