Bucknell Signs Eight Lacrosse Recruits for the 2015 Season

LEWISBURG, Pa. Bucknell head lacrosse coach Randall Goldsborough has announced the signing of eight recruits who will join the Bison in 2014-15. The student-athletes in the incoming class hail from five different states and will address needs at a variety of positions.

Joining the Bison this fall will be Amy Collins (Waxhaw, N.C./Marvin Ridge), Katherine Doyle (Vienna, Va./Flint Hill School), Sarah Galzerano (Garden City, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy), Mary Margaret Kenney (Summit, N.J./Oak Knoll Scholl), Eve Lukowski (Ellicott City, Md./Mount de Sales Academy), Gretchen Richter (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville), Corley Simons (Purcellville, Va./Loudon Valley) and Erika Stube (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius).

"I am very excited about our incoming student-athletes for the fall of 2014," said Goldsborough. "As a group, they add tremendous depth and lacrosse knowledge, and they all complement each other very well. I anticipate this class to come in strong and really push our current players, as well as add to the character that we so highly value in for our program."

This group of newcomers will be tasked with replacing a strong group of eight graduating seniors, including three-time All-Patriot League midfielder Katelyn Miller. Below is a closer look at each of the newcomers, along with a comment on each from Goldsborough.

Amy Collins
Waxhaw, N.C./Marvin Ridge

Born Nov. 25, 1996 in Fort Wayne, Ind. ... parents are Doug and Joanne Collins ... has one brother, Ryan ... father played at Ball State and was her high school coach ... in first three seasons of high school lacrosse piled up 277 goals, 93 assists, 360 points, 255 ground balls and 152 forced turnovers ... set a state record with 124 goals and 40 assists as a junior in 2013 ... had a 14-goal game and a 15-assist game ... three-time First Team All-State, All-Regional and All-Union County selection ... NCHSAA and Charlotte Observer state player of the year in 2013 ... also 2013 Enquirer-Journal Player of the Year ... US lacrosse High School All-Academic selection ... Brine All-American ... two-year team captain and team MVP.

Goldsborough on Amy Collins: "Amy has really matured to be a very solid true midfielder. She exudes confidence on both ends of the field and I am really looking forward to her leadership."

Katherine Doyle
Vienna, Va./Flint Hill School

Born May 1, 1996 in Arlington, Va. ... parents are George and Laura Doyle ... has three siblings: Matthew, Claire and Tommy ... mother played field hockey and lacrosse at Lafayette ... brother Matthew played baseball at Harvard ... sister Claire is a junior at Bucknell and is a former member of the lacrosse team ... twin brother Tommy has committed to play baseball at Virginia ... has played soccer, basketball and lacrosse at Flint Hill School in Oakton, Va. ... member of DC Metro US Lacrosse National Tournament champion ... US Lacrosse High School All-Academic selection ... earned the soccer team's Husky Award in 2011 and 2012 ... Flint Hill Tip-Off Classic All-Academic Team in 2012 and All-Tournament Team in 2012 and 2013 ... captained the basketball team twice and the soccer team once ... earned the President's Volunteer Service Award, the Jasper P. Home Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award and the Senior Prize, which was awarded by the senior class to one junior.
