Holy Cross Names Jordan Nies as Assistant Lacrosse Coach

WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of the Holy Cross has named former Culver Academies assistant coach and 2011 Bucknell graduate Jordan Nies as an assistant men's lacrosse coach, as announced by head coach Judd Lattimore and director of athletics Nathan Pine. Nies will serve as the defensive coordinator.

"I am extremely excited to have Jordan on board at Holy Cross," said Lattimore. "Jordan has done a tremendous job at Culver Academies over the last two years. He was instrumental in helping the team to an undefeated record and a No. 2 national ranking. Jordan's defense at Culver last year allowed only 4.8 goals per game. He was also a key defensive player at Bucknell which ranked No. 7 in the country his senior year and won a Patriot League Tournament championship. Jordan is a great addition to the Holy Cross family and we are excited to have him."

Nies spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the nationally ranked prep lacrosse team at Culver Academies located in Culver, Ind. He served as the defensive coordinator. He was also an assistant coach for the Varsity B boys' hockey team. Before Culver, Nies was an assistant coach at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., where he also was the recruiting coordinator.

Nies was a defensive midfielder at Bucknell. As a senior, the Bison won the Patriot League championship earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament. He appeared in all 17 games and scored two goals. A four-year letterwinner, Nies was a part of the most successful senior class in school history, compiling a 41-21 overall record and a 19-5 mark in Patriot League contests during his career. Nies was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades three times.

A native of Basking Ridge, N.J., he graduated from Bucknell as a Sociology major with a concentration in Legal Studies.
