Abby Dyjack Named Interim Head Lacrosse Coach at Hood

FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College Director of Athletics Tom Dickman has announced that Abby Dyjack '13 will serve as the interim head coach at Hood College in the 2014-15 academic year.

Dyjack returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach in 2014 and helped the Blazers to the first 4-0 start in school history. Hood produced a pair of Commonwealth Conference selections.

An All-Capital Athletic Conference Second Team defender in 2011, Dyjack ranks among Hood's all-time leaders with 165 ground balls. She led the team in gorund balls twice in her career, including 67 in 2011, which ranks as the best sixth best single season in school history. Dyjack also ranks third all-time with 61 career games played. She ended her career with five goals and three assists for a total of eight points. Dyjack also had 39 career draw controls.

She was a part of the 2009 squad that set the school record for wins, and played in the winningest four-year span in program history, from 2008-11.

In the spring of 2013, Dyjack earned a degree in human sciences from Hood. The Odenton, Maryland native is a product of Arundel High School. Her brother Matthew was a four-year member of the Blazers' cross country and track and field programs.
