FIL World Lacrosse Championship - Results from Day Nine

29th place Thailand 12, Spain 6: Colton McCaffery scored six goals as Thailand completed its first FIL championship with a 4-4 record after beating Spain 12-6 to finish in 29th place. McCaffery finished the tournament with 30 goals and he scored twice and assisted on another as Thailand opened up a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Reed Barbe added two goals and two assists and Pongprapat Suriyodom and Ben Brown combined for 13 saves. Danny de la Casa led Spain with three goals and Fernando Martinez won 14 of 20 faceoffs.

31st place France 15, Russia 7: Felix DeClercq and Kevin Bertrand each scored four goals as France defeated Russia 15-7 to capture 31st place. France led 3-2 after one quarter and then broke things open by scoring seven goals in the second quarter. France's Alex Andrup won 18 of 22 faceoffs. Eugene Arkhipov led Russia with four goals and Jordan Friedman had three.

33rd place China 14, Uganda 7: Tyler Buchan scored eight goals, giving him a tournament-leading 35, as China knocked off Uganda 14-7 to claim 33rd place. Buchan, who had nine goals in a win over Korea yesterday, scored three times in the first quarter to stake China to an early 5-1 lead it never relinquished. Matthew Bailey added a goal and three assists for China and Harrison Zhu made 15 saves. Jaffari Makanda led Uganda with five goals.

35th place Korea 10, Argentina 7: Korea scored three straight goals in the final five plus minutes to beat Argentina 10-7 and claim 35th place. Argentina's Mariano Nakada tied the game 7-7 midway through the fourth, but then Jae Chun Lee (5:09), Hunyoung Lee (1:04) and Sung Mo Ku (0:29) scored down the stretch for Korea. Bumsuck You led Korea with four goals Kihun Kim ade 10 saves for the win. Zach Kahn had four goals for Argentina and Michael Gvozden made 12 saves.

37th place - Colombia defeated Costa Rica 11-4 in the 37th place game yesterday.
