Amanda Trendell Hired as Manhattan Assistant Lacrosse Coach

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Amanda Trendell has joined the Manhattan College women's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach, it was announced today by head coach Elizabeth Weber. A 2014 Rutgers graduate, Trendell was a four-year letterwinner for the Scarlet Knights.

"I could not be more excited to begin my coaching career at Manhattan under the guidance of Coach Weber," Trendell said. "I look forward to bringing my experience and passion for the sport from the field to the sideline in order to help our team reach its goals this season. The Jasper family has been welcoming, and I could not be happier to be a part of it."

"We are extremely excited to have Amanda on staff," Weber added. "She will be a tremendous asset to our program and what we are looking to do. Amanda brings a wealth of both playing and coaching experience to Manhattan, and we are happy to have her as part of the Jasper family."

Trendell received the Rutgers Midfielder of the Year Award in 2013 after tying for second on the team in assists (8) and ground balls (26) while also ranking fifth on the squad in goals (14). The Scarlet Knights also ranked sixth nationally in defense in 2013. As a senior, she served as team captain, and Trendell picked up a pair of ground balls against Manhattan on Feb. 18, 2014.

She graduated with a double-major in sports management and psychology and was named to the Big East All-Academic Team in 2012-13.

Trendell brings nearly six years of coaching experience to Riverdale. She has served as the director and head coach of High Impact Lacrosse in New Rochelle, N.Y., since 2013 and was previously head coach of the NewLax Lacrosse Club in Wilton, Conn., as well.

A native of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., she was a member of Yorktown High School's 2006 state championship team, and she earned All-America honors in 2009.
