Post University to Welcome 14 Lacrosse Recruits for 2015

WATERBURY, Conn. Post University lacrosse head coach Jim Griffin announced his recruiting class for the upcoming 2015 season on Tuesday. The class features 14 student-athletes from five states.

Attack

Chris Lommer (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster (Genesee CC)) A criminal justice major, Lommer recorded 10 goals, 14 assists, and 15 ground balls last year at Genesee Community College and shot over 31.0% percent.

"At 6'2", he has great size and a very high lacrosse IQ. He knows the game and can be an instant threat," said Griffin.

Josh Posluszny (Westfield, N.J./ Westfield (Union CC)) Posluszny was named Second Team All-Region XIX at Union in 2014 after scoring 28 goals and 14 assists. He will major in sport management.Josh Posluszny

"Josh is a very skilled dodging threat on offense with a great shot. He will be a very nice addition to our offense."

Chaz Benjamin (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) Benjamin led Uniondale with 50 points during his senior year. He also played for the Long Island Bombers club team.Chaz Benjamin

"He is a very hard worker with a great shot and size."

Midfield

Alshariff Blackman (Easton, Pa./Brevard College) Blackman led Brevard with 34 points scored (19 goals, 14 assists) and was 20th in Division II with 5.15 ground balls per game and 67 total. He also won 54% of his face-offs.

"All I can say is I can't wait for this kid to take the field."

Luke McDermott (New Milford, Conn./Canterbury Prep (Franklin Pierce)) As a freshman at Franklin Pierce in 2013, McDermott scored 10 goals and added four assists.

"Luke can flat-out play. He has tremendous endurance, stick skill, and athletic ability. He will be a fast presence at midfield."

Defense

Michael Brumber (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) Brumber was a four-year varsity player at Hicksville and was named captain for his senior year. He was also named team MVP in 2014 with 68 ground balls and two assists and earned a spot on the Academic All-Conference Team. Kevin Keiser (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) Keiser was a two-year started at close defenseman at Danbury High. In 2014, he was named team captain and picked up 66 ground balls. Keiser is also a member of the Progression Seminole club team.Kevin Keiser

"He has great size and strong footwork. Kevin can be an asset to our defense right away."

Joseph Rende (Centereach, N.Y./Middle County) Rende was a two-year starter at Middle County High School.

"He has great size and is a good, solid defenseman."

Anthony Herman (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) "Anthony has great size and is a very tough defenseman from a great Bethpage program."Devin Lapole-Adams

Devin Lapole-Adams (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) "Devin is a big defenseman from a national powerhouse at St. Marys High School."

Tyler Bouchard (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) "Tyler has great size and speed. He will be an asset at the long-stick midfielder position."

Goalkeepers

Robert Rohan (East Islip, N.Y./SUNY-Delhi) Rohan was named First Team All-Region III in 2014 with a 63.8 save percentage and 197 saves, both of which were good for fourth in the NJCAA.

"We are very excited with what Rob brings the table as a goalie."

Shane Trost (Greece, N.Y./Arcadia (Monroe CC)) As starting goalkeeper in 2014, Trost made 83 saves and had a 61.5 save percentage in the cage.

"He has great vision and hands in the cage. I'm very excited with what he can bring to the table."

John Raymond (Bellport, N.Y./Bellport) Two-year starter at Bellport High.

"John has great speed and is a hard worker."

The Eagles begin their second season on varsity play on Feb. 14, 2015 at Pace.
