Michael McBride Named Head Lacrosse Coach at La Roche

La Roche College is excited to announce that Michael McBride has been named head coach of the men's lacrosse program.

McBride brings a stellar resume to La Roche after five successful seasons and a school-record 59 wins as the head men's lacrosse coach at Peters Township High School. McBride's teams made the playoffs in all five seasons including a school-best 15-2 record in 2013 which earned him Division I Western Pennsylvania Coach of the Year.

As head coach, McBride was responsible for all aspects of lacrosse organization, including running all off-season programs and workouts, and leading a booster organization. Prior to becoming the head coach, he was the Peters Township's junior varsity coach from 2008-2010 and their varsity assistant coach from 2006-2008.

McBride graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2006 where he was a standout on the men's lacrosse team. He was named captain his junior and senior seasons and was also a 4-time all-state performer at Hilliard Darby High School just outside of Columbus, Ohio.

Athletic Director Jim Tinkey was extremely happy with the hire.

"We're very excited to have Coach McBride joining our staff and I think it's a big step forward for our men's lacrosse program. Coach McBride has demonstrated at every level he has coached that he has the drive and the passion to succeed as a head coach".

McBride takes over a senior-laden team and will make his coaching debut on February 25 at Washington & Jefferson.
