Boltja Joins Louisville Lacrosse Coaching Staff as Vol. Asst.

University of Louisville head lacrosse coach Kelly Young has announced that Nikki Boltja will join the Cardinals' staff as a volunteer assistant coach this season.

"I am thrilled that Nikki has returned to Louisville to join our staff," said Young. "She graduated as a first team All-American and now returns to help the next generation of Cardinal Lacrosse athletes follow in her footsteps. She will assist our staff in all aspects of coaching but will be the secondary to offensive coordinator Crysti Foote on game day."

Boltja returns to the University of Louisville after competing for the Cardinals from 2011-14. As a student-athlete, she broke the University of Louisville lacrosse record for free-position goals (52) and placed second in school history in points (235) and goals (193). She also finished third all time in assists (42) and game-winning goals (9).

As a senior in 2014, she ranked third nationally in goals (71), goals per game (3.55), and points per game (5.00), and fourth in points (100). She was also named to the all-Big East and all-region teams for the third year in a row and was honored as the Big East Attack Player of the Year. To cap off an impressive senior campaign, she was named the school's first IWLCA first team All-American after garnering third team honors in 2013.

Boltja graduated from the University of Louisville in 2014 with a degree in health and human performance, concentrating in exercise science.
