The top-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team made its 2007 home debut with a 23-3 Capital Athletic Conference win over Marymount (Va.) University before 400 fans Wednesday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium.

Salisbury (2-0, 1-0 CAC) extended three winning streaks with the win. The Sea Gulls are 78-0 all-time in CAC action since joining the conference in 1995. Salisbury has won 51 straight games at home and 49 straight regular-season games.

SU junior attackman Matt Hickman scored two of his game-high four goals in the first quarter where the Sea Gulls led 7-1. Fellow junior attackman Greg Titus matched Hickman with four goals of his own for the game.

In total, 13 different Sea Gulls scored a goal while 11 players tallied assists.

Salisbury outshot Marymount 60-19 (37-2 in the first half), scooped up 61 groundballs and won 21-of-28 faceoffs.

Senior midfielder Matt Dasinger (three goals) scored his first three goals of the season in the first half where the Sea Gulls led 15-1 at the break. Sophomore Kylor Berkman scored two goals and added one assist and junior attackman Greg Baggan (two goals) was the other multi-goal scorer.

SU senior goalie Max Zarchin (2-0) started the game to earn the win as he split time with sophomore Riley Clark (six saves). Freshman goalie Tim Swinburn played out the last minute. The Sea Gulls played every player except two.

Marymount's Kevin Conklin, Brandon Nemes and Josh Sutherland scored goals for the Saints in the loss. MMU (0-1, 0-1) scored a goal in every quarter except the second.

Salisbury will turn around and play Catholic University on Friday afternoon at home in another CAC game at 3:00 p.m.
