No. 6 Washington College Cages the Wolverines, 10-6

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Sophomore attackman Jimmy Kielek (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) scored four goals and assisted on another as sixth-ranked host Washington College topped visiting Wesley College, 10-6, tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen improved to 1-0 by winning their season opener, while Wesley fell to 1-1 with the loss.

The Shoremen jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one quarter and a 6-1 advantage at halftime. Washington extended the lead to 7-1 when junior attackman Mike Sutter (Ellicott City, MD/Mount St. Joseph) scored off an assist from Kielek with 12:56 left in the third quarter. The Shoremen put an end to the run when junior midfielder Kolyn Kirby (Chestertown, MD/Kent County) fired in a putback off his own shot with 12:00 left to make it 8-4.
