No. 11 Washington & Lee 13, Randolph-Macon 7

LEXINGTON, Va. * Senior midfielder Kelly Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) tallied a game-high four goals as the 11th-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team posted a 13-7 win over ODAC-rival Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.

A trio of goals by Evans helped the Generals take a 7-2 lead at the break, but the Yellow Jackets rallied in the second half, scoring four of the first six goals, including a pair by freshman midfielder Kelly Cramer (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) to cut the Generals' lead to 9-6 with 10:54 to play in the contest. However, W&L went on to score the next three goals en route to the 13-7 final.

Evans paced the Blue and White's attack, while sophomore attacker Kelsi Robinson (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) also added four points (3g, 1a). Sophomore midfielder Colleen Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) had two goals and one assist.

The Yellow Jackets (0-2, 0-1) were led by senior midfielder Traci Phipps (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis), who registered three goals, and Cramer's two scores.

Junior Sarah Tilbor (West Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) and sophomore Ali Hillyard (Media, Pa./Episcopal) split time in goal for W&L. Tilbor made four saves, while Hillyard notched two saves. Junior goalkeeper Lindsay Schabert (Falmouth, Va./Stafford) played all 60 minutes for R-MC, notching five saves.

The Generals (4-0, 2-0) return to the field on Saturday when they host No.7 Franklin & Marshall at 1:00 pm.
