Devils Brave Cold to Top Lycoming, 14-8

(Williamsport, PA)- The Dickinson College men's lacrosse team braved some cold weather en route to a 14-8 win at Lycoming College on Wednesday. The Red Devils improve to 2-1 on the season. The Red Devils jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first period and were in control 10-2 at halftime. The Warriors rallied with a 4-1 third quarter but the Devil defense held them to just a pair in the fourth.

Sophomore Derek Still (Oreland, PA/Penn Charter) led the way with four goals while classmate Casey Finkelstein (Owings Mills, MD/McDonogh) added a pair to his season total.

First-year Jon Schneider (Lutherville, MD/Park) tallied two goals and an assist while classmate Chris Dodson (Bethesda, MD/Landon) chipped in with two goals as well. Senior face-off specialist Bernie Nolan (Bowie, MD/Gonzaga) won 11-of-14 on the afternoon and tallied a game-high five ground balls.

Senior Kevin Riley (Westfield, NJ/Lawrenceville) made 15 saves for the Red Devils. Tom Nairn and Dan Cannon each scored twice for Lycoming (0-3) while Kyle Gilfoy stopped 11 shots in goal.

The Red Devils travel to Orlando, Florida next week to face St. Marys' (MD) College on Tuesday afternoon.
