No. 4 Bowdoin 18, Connecticut College 8 in Opener

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Eight different players from the Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team scored to lead the fourth-ranked Polar Bears to a convincing 18-8 season-opening win over Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. Bowdoin (1-0) will take to the road for their next three
games- all in Florida- including a clash with second-ranked Gettysburg on March 13.

Bowdoin exploded for 12 goals in the opening half, thanks to a first-half hat trick from Jill Steigerwald. Bobbi Dennison led all scorers with three goals and two assists, while Christina Denitzio also found the back of the net three times for the Polar Bears. Libby Barton, Kate Donoghue, Bridget Keating and Taylor White all scored twice for Bowdoin.

Stephanie Collins-Finn made two saves in 30 minutes of work, while Kat Popoff stopped five shots in the second half for Bowdoin. Bowdoin out-shot Conn. College 31-18 for the game.
