No. 6 Lynchburg Defeats Ursinus in San Diego, 16-7
SAN DIEGO, CA – The sixth-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team defeated Ursinus College (PA) 16-7 late Friday night in a non-conference game played at Westview High School.
Sophomore attack Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakesfield) found the back of the net six times, and junior midfielder Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) tallied four goals and two assists.
Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) scored three times, Leon Bournes (Washington, D.C./Archbishop Carroll) scored twice, while Kyle McGuire (Burke, VA/Robinson) had three assists and Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul's) had two.
Lynchburg led 8-4 at intermission and outscored the Bears (3-1) 7-3 in the third period to put the game out of reach.
The Hornets (3-0) host the College of Wooster Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
