OAKDALE, NY-The junior Canadian duo Nick Cotter (Whitby, Ontario) and Ryan Campbell (Brampton, Ontario) each fired off 5 goals, with Campbell also tallying an assist, in Dowling's 15-7 romp over St. Anselm's College on March 10. The Golden Lions improve to 1-1 on the season as the Hawks fall to 2-2.

The Golden Lions kicked off the game with two unassisted tallies as Cotter put the Dowling on the board in with 7:42 on the board and fired one in just 42 seconds later. The Hawks evened it out before the end of quarter as Matt O'Connell and Chris Murphy each found the back of the net.

Dowling made the push in the second quarter as they held the Hawks scoreless and rallied seven goals for the 9-2 advantage at the half. Cotter added two as Ed Hoctor (Selden, NY), Kevin Rimmer (Ronkonkoma, NY), Campbell, CJ Leary and Brandon Bergersen (Servern, MD) each pitched in with one.

The Hawks continued to fight hard as were one goal shy of the Golden Lion second half scoring.

Gregory Graziano (East Setauket, NY) won 11 of his 16 faceoffs for the Golden Lions and Thomas Stellwagen (Farmingville, NY) helped out winning 6 of his 8. In addition to Campbell and Cotter, Rimmer finished with 3 points and Hoctor tallied 2.

Nick Tracey (Farmingville, NY) earned his first win on the season, making six saves in front of the net while Frank Melhus (Levittown, NY) added 3 saves. Vin Funaro (Patchogue, NY) led the team with 7 grounds balls and forced a team high 3 Hawk turnovers.

The Golden Lions gear up again on Friday, March 16, when they take on Merrimack College at 7:00 PM at Patchogue-Medford High School.
