Gannon Pitches 18-0 Shutout at Millersville

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Gannon women's lacrosse team, ranked eighth in NCAA Division II, dominated from start to finish Sunday afternoon during an 18-0 victory at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Millersville. It marked the first shutout in the program's 11-year history and allowed the Lady Knights to remain perfect at 4-0.

Gannon opened a 10-0 lead at halftime and coasted to the big victory with eight goals in the second half. Krista Schunk (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Colleen Dixon (Lafayette, N.Y./Lafayette) led the way with five goals each.

Shannon Pagano (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) was close behind with four scores. Melissa Hill (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) added two goals while Antonia Cianfrocco (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) and Dana Rousseau (Easton, Md./Easton) completed the scoring with one goal each.

Acacia Cook (Clay, N.Y./Clay-NS) started in goal, making four saves in 42 minutes of action. Ashley Dodge (Clifton Springs, N.Y./Midlakes) posted one save in 18 minutes of relief.

Gannon improved to 4-0 with the victory. Millersville dropped to 0-2. The Lady Knights complete a short two-match road trip Monday, March 12 at Bloomsburg. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
