Notre Dame Cruises to 17-10 Win over NC Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. College of Notre Dame of Maryland ran out to a 15-3 lead and cruised to a 17-10 non-conference victory Sunday afternoon against host North Carolina Wesleyan College.

Four players scored three or more goals for the Gators (3-0), led by four each from senior midfielder Tina Money (Shady Side, Md./Queen Anne's County High School) and junior midfielder Anne Shippen (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg Country Day School).

Senior midfielder Sara Breidenbaugh (Glen Arm, Md./Perry Hall High School) and freshman attacker Lauren Terry (Towson, Md./The Catholic High School of Baltimore) each scored three goals.

Breidenbaugh led all players with four assists, while Money had three, and Shippen added two. Sarah Matulich scored four goals for the Bishops (1-5). The Gators had a 17-11 advantage in draw controls, led by Shippen's eight.

Notre Dame continues its North Carolina swing against Lees-McRae College on Monday, March 12, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. The game will be played at Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C.
