O'Shaughnessy Leads Colorado C. Past Bryn Mawr

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior midfielder Kerry O'Shaughnessy scored a pair of goals and set up three others to lead Colorado College to a 16-4 victory over Bryn Mawr College in a Division III women's lacrosse game on Monday afternoon at CC's Stewart Field.

CC got goals from nine different players, including three apiece from senior midfielder Robin Harvey and junior attacker Mallory Newton, and 11 Tigers had at least one point. Harvey finished with four points, while freshman attacker Ginny Rider had two goals and an assist.

Colorado College scored three times in the first 5:10, and after a goal by BMC freshman midfielder Avery Winn, scored three more to take a 6-1 lead with 18:15 remaining in the first half. Junior attacker Moriah Scott cut CC's lead to four with the first of her two goals, but CC answered with five straight to take an 11-2 lead at the break. Greta Flaherty added a goal for Bryn Mawr in the second half.

Senior Lauren Faber had seven saves for the Owls (0-2) in the first half, while sophomore Stephanie Hilton had four during the second 30 minutes. Sophomore Jess Van Doren stopped three shots en route to her second victory of the season before giving way to freshman Valerie Cranmer, who made a pair of saves in the final 15:27. Colorado College had a 36-13 advantage in shots on goal.

The Tigers (2-0) will return to action on Wednesday, March 14, when they take on the University of Dallas at 4:00 p.m.
