Greensboro Powers by North Carolina Wesleyan, 18-4

Rocky Mount, NC - Caroline Young led all scorers with five goals and two assists and Greensboro College out-scored North Carolina Wesleyan 11-2 in the second half on Wednesday afternoon, sealing an 18-4 win over the Bishops in USA South women's lacrosse action at Scalf Field.

The Pride improved to 4-1 overall, 3-0 in league action. Wesleyan is now 1-6 on the season, 0-2 in conference play.

NCWC's Lauren Stearns scored the game's first goal unassisted to give the Bishops an early 1-0 lead. Greensboro, however, reeled off the next five goals to take a 5-1 advantage that they would not relinquish. Young's score at the 13:16 mark proved to be the eventual gamewinner.

After taking a 7-2 lead into the break, the Pride put to rest any thoughts of a Bishop comeback by scoring eight of the final period's first nine goals for a 15-3 lead.

For GC, Monika Hulcher and Jenna Gast added three goals apiece, while Kristin McGuire earned the win in goal after facing eight shots and making two saves. Freshman Christie Hebert had one goal dished 4 assists.

Greensboro out-shot Wesleyan 42-12 on the day as the Bishops committed a crucial 31 turnovers.

Freshman goalie Sarah Seligman tallied a season-high 20 saves in the losing effort.
