#17 William Smith falls to #7 Franklin & Marshall
WELLINGTON, Fla.—The 17th-ranked William Smith lacrosse team fell to seventh-ranked Franklin & Marshall this afternoon, 17-9. The Herons slip to 1-1 on the season, while the Diplomats remain undefeated at 5-0.
Senior midfielder Sarah Dillon (Blair Academy/Oldwick, N.J.) led the William Smith offense with four goals, while first-year Sarah Goodkind (Millbrook School/Riverside, Conn.) added two. Dillon's fourth goal of the day marked her 100th career point.
Sophomore goalkeeper Becky Josefiak (West Seneca East/West Seneca, N.Y.) tallied nine saves for William Smith.
The Herons will be back in action on March 21 when they host Vassar for a Liberty League contest at 4:00 p.m.
