Colby Falls to Keene State, 9-8 in Overtime

PORTLAND, Maine -- The Colby College men's lacrosse team tied the game late in regulation, but Sean Panora (South Windsor, Conn.) scored with 1:52 left in the overtime session to lift the Keene State College men's lacrosse team to a 9-8 victory in a non-conference game at Portland's Fitzpatrick Stadium on Wednesday.

Panora finished with three goals and one assist for the Owls (3-0).

Keene State led 4-0 after the opening quarter, but the Mules (1-2) got going in the second quarter and only trailed 6-5 at halftime. After the two teams both scored twice in the third quarter, Colby's Dan Schupack (Cheshire, Conn.) tallied with just 44 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime.

Schupack finished with three goals and teammate Caddy Brooks (Darien, Conn.) added three assists. Whit McCarthy (Darien, Conn.) and Ryan Scott (Columbia, N.J.) both had a pair of goals. Todd Boertzel (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) added one goal and one assist.

Colby goaltender Alex Farmer (Madison, Conn.) made 18 saves.
