Nine Tigers Score as CC Tops Chico State

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Senior attacker Ted Nash scored three goals and set up two more to lead the Colorado College men's lacrosse team to a 16-10 victory over the Chico State University club team on Wednesday afternoon at CC's Washburn Field.

Junior midfielder Hunter Combs had two goals and added three assists to equal Nash's total of five points. The Tigers received goals from nine different players, including two apiece from Charley Perkins, Case Watson, Brendan Gangl and Nick Hiebert.

Joe Vila had a goal and an assist to help the Wildcats take a 3-2 lead after the first period, but Colorado College exploded for eight goals in the second frame to take a 10-5 lead at the intermission.

The Tigers used a 6-2 run to open the second half to extend their lead to 16-7 before Vila tallied three times in the final 4:18 to close out the scoring.

Sophomore Ryan Maloney made 13 saves, including seven in the fourth quarter, to earn the victory in goal. Austin Raab made five saves in the first half before giving way to Steffan Ravizza, who had 10 stops in the second 30 minutes.

Freshman midfielder Alex Osmond won all 12 of his faceoffs, while freshman midfielder Michael McGeary had a team-high four ground balls and added an assist.

The Tigers will be idle until March 30 when they travel to Grand Junction, Colo., to play Brigham Young University, the top-ranked club team in the nation.
