(Carlisle, PA)- The Dickinson College men's lacroose team erutpted with five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to rally past Swarthmore 11-6 in its Centennial Conference opener.

The Garnet Tide started strong, scoring first at the 11:30 mark of the first quarter. The Devils answered before Swarthmore went on a 3-1 run to take a 4-2 advantage.

Swarthmore led 5-4 at halftime and tallied the first goal of the second half with 13:13 remaining in the third quarter. It was all Devils from that point as sophomore *Derek Still (Oreland, PA/Penn Charter)* led Dickinson on a 7-0 run to close out the game.

Still scored every other goal in the run to finish with four on the afternoon. He dished out a pair of assists as well for a game-high six points. First-year *Charlie Gorman (Chevy Chase, MD/Gonzaga)* added two goals and an assist while senior *Drew Peace (Lutherville, MD/Boys' Latin)* struck twice at well.

Senior *Bernie Nolan (Bowie, MD/Gonzaga)* had an outstanding day, winning 17-of-21 face-offs and controlling a game-high 14 ground balls, all of face-offs.

First-year *Chris Breslin (Garden City, NY/Garden City)* recorded five ground balls while *Matt Kogelschatz (Baltimore, MD/St. Paul's)* caused four turnovers and controlled three GBs. *Tim Marshall (Phoenix, MD/Calvert Hall)* joined in as the Devils held the Garnet to just 17 shots, including two in the fourth period, and killed three extra-man opportunities.

Kyle Wilson led Swarthmore (2-2, 1-1 CC) with three goals while Drew Bonessa added four face-offs and four GBs.

The Red Devils improve to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to #7-ranked Gettysburg College on Wednesday for a 3:30 start.

CARLISLE, Pa. – Swarthmore sophomore attack Kyle Wilson tallied his first career hat trick as the visiting Garnet fell to Centennial rival Dickinson 11-6 in men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

Derek Still scored a game-high four goals for the Red Devils (5-2 overall, 1-1 CC) and added two assists while Charlie Gorman contributed two goals and two assists.

Swarthmore's offense was lighting up the scoreboard early, grabbing a 4-2 lead after one period of action. Wilson opened the game with an unassisted score at 11:30, and following a Dickinson score, the sophomore racked up his second goal at 6:44 off a feed from freshman Tyler Bradshaw. Swarthmore sophomore midfielder Ben Young scored unassisted 20 seconds later and senior midfielder Jay Charles put up the fourth Garnet goal at 3:20 off an assist from classmate Gavin Nurick.

Swarthmore (2-2 overall, 1-1 CC) had the advantage on the scoreboard, but Dickinson was controlling the action. The Red Devils won all seven face-offs and out-shot the visitors 15-4.

The Garnet held a 5-4 lead at halftime after Bradshaw tallied an unassisted goal, his third of the season, and the Devils put up two scores of their own.

Wilson opened the second half with his third score at 13:13­he leads the team with six goals in 2007.

It was all Dickinson from there on out­the hometown team put up seven unanswered scores led by Still, who tallied every other score to secure the win for the Red Devils.

Swarthmore goalie Frank Mazzucco '08 made 12 saves in goal while defender Drew Bonessa picked up a team-high four ground balls.

The Garnet travel to Lancaster, Pa. on Wednesday, March 28 to face-off against Centennial-foe Franklin & Marshall College at 3:30 p.m.
