No. 13 Colby Stops Eastern Connecticut, 16-9

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Kate Sheridan netted four goals and added an assist as the 13th-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team earned a 16-9 non-conference win over Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday night at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

The Mules improve to 2-1 and will take on Williams College on Monday in Florida in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Allie Libby added two goals and two assists for the Mules, who led

9-2 at halftime. Kathleen Kramer finished with three goals, Lauren Barrett scored twice, Cary Finnegan had one goal and one assist and Megan Towe dished two assists. Carrie Lovejoy, Becky Julian, Carly Rapaport and Heather Nickerson all had one goal.

Catharine O'Brien played the first half and made two saves for the Mules. First-year goalie Keryn Meierdiercks saw her first action with Colby and stopped seven shots in the second half.
