PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (March 30, 2007) – Nina Frankoski scored seven goals, the most by a single player in any game this season, to help lead the Rutgers women's lacrosse team (8-2, 1-1) to a 14-10 win over Temple (2-6) on Friday afternoon. Katie Batiuk added in three goals and two assists as the Scarlet Knights have now won two-straight games.

The Owls out-shot Rutgers, 31-27, but failed to turn enough of those shots into goals as RU goalie Sandra Abel made 11 saves. The difference in the game came in the Scarlet Knights' 6-for-6 showing in free position attempts as Temple was just 1-for-6 in their tries. Frankoski scored on all three of her free position attempts and Batiuk was perfect in her two free position attempts. Katy Lawrence was the other Scarlet Knight to record a successful free position attempt.

Frankoski got the scoring started for Rutgers, netting her first goal at the 22:08 mark. She would go on to score five of her seven goals in the first half of play. RU jumped out to a 5-0 with over 17 minutes still remaining in the first half. Temple pulled within two (5-3) halfway through the first period, but by halftime RU led by three, 7-4.

The Scarlet Knights opened the second half of play with three unanswered goals. Temple responded with three unanswered scores of their own with less than three minutes remaining in the game, but a goal by Jamie Farewell with just over a minute remaining built RU's lead to four and sealed the victory.

Allison Frengs led the Owls in scoring with four goals and teammate Casey Cech added in two. Temple goalie Bridget McMullan made eight saves in the game.

The Scarlet Knights will be back in action when they travel to Temple on Friday, March 30, for a 4:00 p.m. game.
