2nd-half Flurry Propels Ursinus to Win vs. #14 McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Lisa Clark tallied four goals and an assist to lead Ursinus to a 12-9 victory over No. 14 McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Logan Conklin added two goals and two assists for the Bears (6-2, 2-0 CC), who improve to 14-2 all-time against the Green Terror. Kerrie Wuenschel (Sykesville, MD/South Carroll) paced McDaniel (6-2, 1-2 CC) with three goals and one assist.

Trailing 7-5 at the break, Ursinus reeled off the first four goals of the second half to turn the two-goal deficit into a two-goal lead. Stephanie Kaysen and Clark tallied 1 minute, 27 seconds apart to knot the game with 4:48 elapsed in the second half.

Melissa Dunn and Catie Cameron each tallied before nine minutes had gone by to take the lead for good. Wuenschel drew the hosts within 9-8, completing her hat trick at the 10:37 mark.

Clark followed 43 seconds later with her fourth and final goal of the game. After Emily Funk (Salisbury, MD/Parkside) responded at the 13:45 mark, Kaitlin Glenn scored twice in the final 7:40 to secure the win.

Meagan Mattson (Mt. Airy, MD/South Carroll) tallied her eighth goal in conference play, sandwiching a pair of Bear goals in the first 6:22 before the Wuenschel sisters took over. The Connie-Kerrie duo combined for the next four goals over a 5-minute, 25-second span to give the Green Terror a 5-2 lead.

Ursinus countered with three goals of its own before Mattson and Funk answered, scoring in the final 5:43 of the half.

McDaniel returns to action at Villa Julie on Wednesday. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
