Georgian Court Tops Blazer Women's Lax, 15-3

FREDERICK, Md.--The Georgian Court University women's lacrosse team scored 11 straight goals spanning both halves en route to a 15-3 victory over the Hood College Blazers Saturday morning at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers slip to 2-5 while the Lions improve to 6-4.

Hood used back-to-back goals by Rachel Loss and Liz Rakowski to take a 2-1 lead at the 21:47 mark of the first half. But the Lions scored 11 unanswered goals and held the Blazers scoreless for over 40 minutes.

At the 11:29 mark of the second half, Britney Colandreo beat goalie Christine Latteri off a pass from Rakowski to make it 12-3. But Jillian Hadfield netted a tally and Christine Flaherty scored twice in the final 10:20 for the final margin.

Lauren Lieb finished with five saves on the day while Latteri turned away six shots.

The Blazers return to action Saturday when they host Lancaster Bible College at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field. Hood will also recognize seniors Laurie Burrier, Arielle John, Meaghan Held and Melissa Olson prior to the game.
