BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior captain Kevin Mullins scored a career-high four goals and added two assists to lead the Polar Bear men's lacrosse team to a 9-7 NESCAC victory over Trinity on Saturday. Bowdoin (4-4, 2-2 NESCAC) snaps a three-game losing skid, while the Bantams (5-3, 2-2) fall for the second time in their last three games.

Mullins scored three of Bowdoin's first four goals to give the hosts a 4-1 edge at 11:33 of the second quarter. Bowdoin carried the momentum into halftime, holding a 5-2 edge at the break. Trinity would cut the advantage to one goal, 5-4, as Curtis Kahn and Sam Slater scored consecutive goals right after intermission.

But Bowdoin responded with a decisive four-goal run, as Thadd Welch scored twice off Mullins feeds, as Mullins and Rob Halliday also added a goal apiece to push the lead to 9-4 with under ten minutes to play. The Bantams finished the game on a 3-0 run, scoring their final goal with 43 seconds left to cut the final advantage to 9-7.

Bowdoin, behind Max Key (8-11) and Ben York (6-9) owned the faceoff circle, winning 14 of 20 draws on the afternoon. Adam Tracy and Cullen Winkler also scored for the Polar Bears, who got 14 saves in a strong performance by Charlie Legg in net.

The Bantams were led by two goals each from Slater and Kahn, as Adam Cox also added a goal and an assist. Between the pipes, Alex Palma stopped 10 shots.
